In the past I have watching figure skating, but only as something to do occasionally to pass the time, if it happened to be on tv. I certainly never paid attention to the competitors themselves. That changed when I discovered the revelation that is Johnny Weir.

A word of warning to Johnny haters: behind the cut are words that will probably get me branded as a stan. Guess what? I don't give a flying fuck.

After three viewings of the Star Trek movie, I think I've finally settled down enough to put some thoughts together.

Not that anybody's going to read this, but I'm so angry I have to rant.

A stalker pic of Tom has been posted to [livejournal.com profile] th_cult, less than a week after Tokio Hotel's stalker problem came to light.

How ironic that after the hundreds of comments denouncing the actions of the stalker gang, there are now even more comments over Tom's hair, with not a single one questioning the morality of the situation. Then again, it's the Cult, so I guess morality isn't an issue.

The bar has now been set by "Les Afghanes On Tour", and it's so low even a snake would have difficulty slithering under it. The other stalkers can now defend themselves by saying that they aren't as bad as the swiss cheese gang.

There is no such thing as "good stalkers" and "bad stalkers". You're all scum in my opinion. You're doing it for the power, not just over the band, but over the fandom - knowledge is power, and you dole it out as you see fit.

I've recently dived back into an old fandom - Star Wars' Qui-Gon/Obi-Wan. Stumbled across an interesting (year old) post here by [livejournal.com profile] generale_kenobi, an Obi-Wan/Anakin fan who bravely read Q/O fics and made an analysis of the Q/O fandom. I saw a couple of points I wanted to comment on, but ended up writing more of a mini essay than a comment (-_-;), so I decided to post it here instead.

I've immersed myself in a huge number of fandoms over the past 12 years, so I wanted to address some of the issues by giving some general observations I've made during that time. While it directly relates to the Q/O fandom, it applies to slash fandoms in general. Please be aware that these are just my (maybe strange) opinions, and in no way reflect the rest of the Q/O fandom. :)
